Important news from Ms. Tupper's class
Dear Parents/Guardians,
I have had a few requests from parents for summer work. I thought I would go ahead a provide everyone with the information/ideas to keep your child engaged over the summer.
· Study Island: This is a great resource to use for practice on the computer. Your student can review skills from 4th grade and start working on the 4th grade Common Core objectives.
· Everyday Math Online: Different math games that can be played to review skills they have learned in the past.
· Flash cards: http://www.aplusmath.com/flashcards/Flashcard_Creator.html this website will allow you to create and print flashcards for addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. Have the student sit and practice to keep the facts fresh.
· Read: When the kids are reading, stop them and ask them to summarize, or tell you, what they are reading. This works and summary and comprehension. If they can’t tell you what the story is about, have them go back and reread what they have read.
· Math Journals/Skills Link/Home Links: These books that kids can work through, most of these skills were on the state test, so they kids can work through them.
If you run out of things and need more suggestions please do not hesitate to email me at [email protected].
It has been a great year; hope everyone has a great summer!
